RFS Showcases its Innovative RADIAFLEX® Solution at InnoTrans 2014

Berlin (Germany), SEPTEMBER 23, 2014 — Buyers and sellers of railway passenger and freight transport technology at InnoTrans 2014 will see just how easy it is to build in-tunnel and in-building wireless communications networks with advanced infrastructure solutions provided by Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist.

In addition to a showcase of its extensive portfolio of RADIAFLEX radiating cables, the RFS booth (Stand 105, Hall 12) at the InnoTrans show in Berlin on September 23-26 will feature live demonstrations of RADIAFLEX cable installations with the new RFS premium performance, PIM-rated connectors introduced earlier this year. The new connectors are designed specifically to provide the highest quality connector-cable interface while simplifying and speeding up the attachment of connectors to RFS radiating cables.

“These connectors enable quick, easy and reliable installation at any location, giving operators more flexibility in how and when they perform installations, and saving them time and money on every installation with our radiating cables,” said Dr. Peter Raabe, Global Product Line Director Transmission Lines and Wireless Indoor Solutions. “The robust  mechanical design enables a stable connection with the cable for best in class PIM performance. This assures easy and error-free attachment and avoids unnecessary connector adjustments. The PIM-rated connectors are the perfect complement to RFS RADIAFLEX cables on display, which provide best-in-class performance for in-tunnel and in-building wireless applications. The booth showcase includes the new series of axially directive radiating cables, which provide superior performance for TETRA/GSM-Rail deployments. These cables feature RFS’ patented higher order mode suppression technique, and support commercial and essential radio services from 75 MHz to 2700 MHz. RFS will also show the RADIAFLEX RE60 radiating waveguide which is the leading edge solution for in-tunnel wireless applications in the 5-6 GHz band.

The installation demonstrations will showcase the RFS Universal Trimming tool, which enables intuitive and precise cable preparation prior to connector attachment. By combining all necessary functions in one tool, the unique design of RFS’ trimming tool makes it the only one necessary to prepare the cable for connector attachment. Its smooth dielectric surface improves Passive Intermodulation (PIM) performance and is easy to clean.

Other RFS products on display include CELLFLEX® low loss RF coaxial cables, HYBRIFLEX® (optical & power) cables, indoor antennas and other accessories.
