RFS Closes 2013 with Unprecedented Worldwide Success for New In-Tunnel and In-Building Wireless Communications Projects

Hannover (Germany), February 5th, 2014 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, today announced that the company received a record amount of orders in 2013 for its leading RADIAFLEX® cables and related products for passive and active solutions for in-tunnel and in-building wireless communications. RADIAFLEX radiating cables facilitate radio communication where the usual free space propagation of electromagnetic waves is hampered, undesired or impossible such as in tunnels, mines, buildings, alongside tracks or lines and in large complexes like exhibition grounds or airports.

A number of highlighted major projects include : Brazil’s B2W Distribution Center, Norbe IX -Odebrecht Oil & Gas Platform, ODN TAY IV - Odebrecht Oil & Gas Platform, Mineirão and Maracanã; Metro Sofia in Bulgaria; Canada’s Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Underground Subway Stations; 15 projects in China including Chengdu Metro Line 4 TETRA, Shanghai Metro Line 11 extension, Shanghai Center in-building coverage, Chengdu Metro Line 1 extension, Nanjing Metro Line 3, Line 10, Airport Line and Ningtian line, Wuxi Metro Line 2- commercial, Guangzhou-Foshan Metro phase 2, LaRi high-speed railway, Hengqin subway, DongGuang Metro R2 - Commercial, TETRA, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong FuTian Part, Daxi High Speed Railway, Dalian Metro, Qingdao Metro and Shenyang Metro; The Eurotunnel / Service Tube in France; multiple high profile projects in Germany including Airport Tunnel A 44, Düsseldorf, Tunnel Essen / Mühlheim, Üstra Hannover, Einhorntunnel, Elbtunnel A7, Jagdbergtunnel, Airport Munich, Tunnel Neuhof and Tunnel Oberkirch; Hungary’s Metro Budapest; Chennai Metro in India; Mexico’s Mexico City Metro; Metro Oslo of Norway; several projects in Singapore such as Downtown Line (Metro) Stage 2 -  Signaling, Downtown Line (Metro) Stage 2 - Construction Radio, MCE Tetra (Marina Coastal Extension of KPE Tunnel), Downtown Line (Metro) Stage 2 – Commercial; Metro Malaga in Spain; the Istanbul - Marmaray project and Ankara Metro M2 line located in Turkey; and the New York City NYCTA Subway System and Boston MBTA Subway System in the United States. Some projects are already finished and others are still under preparation.
