RFS appoints Kenneth J. Farrell as President of its North American operations

Colombes (France), September 14, 2011 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, today announced that it recently appointed Kenneth J. (Ken) Farrell as President of RFS North America. In addition to his new role as President of RFS’ North American operations, Ken Farrell will continue as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for RFS North America with a continuous focus on customer service and excellence.

Farrell brings an extremely deep level of experience and insight into the North American telecom industry to his new role. He began by watching his father, a long-time Mountain Bell employee, then joined Mountain Bell himself while working his way through college. After graduating in 1987, Farrell joined AT&T Network Systems, moving to AT&T’s newly created wireless business unit (Lucent) in 1992. This led to increasingly responsible sales and marketing roles at Lucent, Alcatel-Lucent and RFS. During the course of his career, Farrell has worked in almost every aspect of the telecom business — from climbing poles and installing PBXs to selling millions of dollars of telecom gear to operators across North America.
In announcing Farrell’s appointment as President of RFS North America, RFS President, Stéphane Klajzyngier, said: “Ken’s deep knowledge of the North American market and his close relationship with customers puts him in an excellent position to lead RFS North America to further success. Ken is constantly searching for new ways to meet the expectations of all our customers and to anticipate their future needs. With this new appointment, RFS’ reputation for excellent customer service is secure.”

Farrell confirms his dedication to building long-term, trusted relationships with customers. “Our biggest initiative in RFS North America is to focus on delivering what we say we’re going to deliver, when we say we’re going to deliver it. It’s not enough to offer price, technology and quality. Those are expected. It’s customer service that makes the difference. You only have credibility when you live up to your word. We work closely with RFS customers from the earliest stages of their projects to understand their pain points and figure out how we can help them solve those challenges. Then we deliver — on time.”
Farrell is confident he has the team to succeed in North America. “Our people are our greatest asset. Time and again, I’ve seen this team do whatever it takes to meet our customers’ needs. To keep our customer commitments front and center, we’re tracking key metrics on TV screens around our facility in Meriden, Connecticut. And we’re taking more RFS people out into the field to work directly with customers. There’s no better knowledge to be had than going out and talking with customers and walking in their shoes to really understand their perspective. The customers are the key. Without them, we don’t exist.”

Ken Farrell graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Farrell succeeds Bill Bayne who resigned from RFS to pursue other interests.
