New RFS distributor enters Canada’s wireless market

Radio Frequency Systems has announced the appointment of Power & Telephone Supply of Canada (Power & Tel) as its newest distributor to the Canadian market. The distributorship enables Power & Tel to enter the country’s rapidly expanding wireless market for the first time, launching from its position as an established and successful supplier to landline-based telephony and cable television companies.

According to Power & Tel Canada’s general manager, Jean Desrosiers, the ability to provide the very best in transmission line, base station antennas and RF conditioning products was a critical consideration in underpinning its market expansion endeavor. “With four strategically-located warehouses and a team of more than 20 field representatives, we have a comprehensive supply network,” he said. “This alliance with RFS ensures we can use that network to deliver the most technologically advanced wireless solutions sets swiftly and conveniently to our customers. We have even established our own in-country cable cutting facilities for ‘made-to-measure’ supply.”

Desrosiers states that, with today’s convergence of technology and the disbanding of old telephony and broadcast monopolies, Canada is joining the rest of the world in looking to wireless technologies to support escalating consumer demand for bundled telephone, television, high-speed Internet and broadband wireless services.

“Both broadcasters and traditional telephone companies have expanded their services and offerings; and now Power & Tel Canada has done the same. Our new alliance with Radio Frequency Systems demonstrates our commitment to assisting our customers in ‘meeting the challenge of change’,” Desrosiers said.
