IEEE Broadcast Symposium Attendees Invited to Tour RFS Broadcast and Cable Manufacturing Facility

Meriden, CT (United States), October 4, 2016 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, is offering a full facility tour for 2016 IEEE Broadcast Symposium attendees. In addition, RFS’ Brandon George, Senior Electrical Engineer, will present “Advanced Modeling Method for UHF Broadcast Slotted Coaxial Antennas” at the Symposium’s DTV Repack Session.

Facility Tour. A complimentary, round-trip shuttle will be provided from IEEE Broadcast Symposium, departing conveniently from the Hartford Marriott Downtown at 10am and 1:30pm.  Guests will:
•    Check out RFS’ RFStar™ SAA high-power UHF slotted array antenna and its SBB UHF broadband antenna manufactured in Meriden CT;
•    Participate in an interactive, hands-on demo of PeakPower+ bandpass filter/ combiner specifically aimed at safely sustaining the very high peak power of digital television – a major breakthrough in coaxial filter technology;
•    Learn about RFS’ frequency-agile, polarization-agile and future-proof technologies;
•    Observe the cable manufacturing process first-hand, and see its state-of-the-art anechoic chamber;
•    Get insights on U.S. broadcast product manufacturing, the spectrum repacking program, and other marketplace trends from RFS’ Director of Broadcast Sales;
•    Enjoy a catered reception following the tour.


Technical Presentation.  Brandon George, Senior Electrical Engineer, RFS will present “Advanced Modeling Methods for UHF Broadcast Slotted Coaxial Antennas” during the Symposium’s DTV Repack Session. The UHF spectrum repack will create high demand for replacement slotted coaxial antennas and require fast and accurate design and production methods with short delivery times. The presentation will address how EM modeling tools, in conjunction with Space Mapping techniques, can be used to allow for fast and accurate designs during the FCC UHF spectrum repack.
